What is a Glute Bridge? (Also Called Pelvic Lifts)

The glute bridge is a simple, low-impact exercise that you can do right in your own home. No gym membership needed. This move is great for beginners and targets the butt, abs, and thighs. If done properly, the glute bridge can have you in very good shape and fast! 

How To Do A Glute Bridge?

Lie on your back, knees bent on the floor or a Yoga mat. Place your arms and hands on the floor on either side of you palms down. Keep your feet flat on the ground. Squeeze your abs and buttocks simultaneously while raising your butt off of the ground to make a straight line from your knees to your shoulders. Hold it for as long as you can. Increase that length of holding time each session. As you drop your buttocks back down into starting floor position, push your back and butt all the way into the floor. Relax. Repeat. Start with 15 reps and increase each day. You will feel a burn! Video here!


Tip: Focus on a squeezing a different muscle or muscles tight with each rep. Breathing properly is important too! Such as, your leg muscles, back muscles, buttock muscles, abs or core muscles. You will feel the burn!
