Pick an activity! Fitness comes in many forms. Try swimming, golfing, Yoga, power walking, weight training, hiking, take a spin class or join a gym. Pick an activity you would enjoy. Now that you've made a choice, make a commitment. Change up your activities as needed. Just have fun and keep moving.
If you are lonely, participating in a fitness class or activity opens the door to meeting new people. In today's world it's not easy to meet new people face-to-face. There are dating sites all over the internet. You could make new friends and even meet that special someone while getting healthy at the same time. Ditch the bar scene and go for fitness!
When you add fitness to your day, it increases a natural hormone produced by the body called endorphins. Endorphins are like the body's natural pain killer and trigger a "feel good feeling". Studies have shown that people who exercise daily have a positive boost in mood and lower depression rates.
Do you have low self-esteem? You can change your life with fitness! Self-esteem is defined as our evaluation of our self-concept and feelings associated with that evaluation. Sticking to an exercise plan gives us a sense of achievement and makes us feel proud. This boosts confidence and makes us feel better about our ourselves. Fitness zaps out the negative thoughts and replaces them with positive. Sounds fabulous, doesn't it?
Have trouble sleeping or suffer from insomnia. Try adding physical activity 2 times per day. Even 15 minutes sessions will help improve your sleeping habits. Exercise improves daytime focus and alertness, bringing on sleepiness at night. Studies have shown that increased quality of sleep with regular exercise. It's time to get moving!
Keep your body systems running smoothly and maintain a healthy weight by adding a daily fitness routine. Exercising builds stronger and healthier bones, strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure and improves the circulatory system. Sitting for long periods of time is common today, get up and get moving to keep those muscles strong and healthy. According to recent studies, people who are physically active and maintain a healthy weight, live 7 years longer than those who don't. Fitness prolongs your future!
